Arizona Department of Transportation MVD service back in Colorado City
New technology allows full service remotely
PHOENIX – Technology is paving the way for Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division services to be available once again in Colorado City.
The MVD has placed remote customer service stations to handle previously-unavailable transactions in an office at Asset Insurance, which is an MVD Authorized Third Party provider.
The computer-based system connects a customer in Colorado City with a live MVD Customer Service Representative who can process complex MVD transactions such as driver licenses and ID cards. Vehicle related services will continue to be processed by the Authorized Third Party.
“Using technology to improve customer service is a big part of how MVD is getting Arizona out of line and safely on the road in every corner of the state,” said MVD Director Eric Jorgensen. “This is a fantastic example of internet-based services being developed to meet the needs of our customers in ways that simply weren’t possible even a few years ago.”
Secure equipment for authenticating various customer documents such as birth certificates, passports and other vital records has been installed. Additionally, a camera capable of taking driver license photos is in place so license or ID photos can be taken, making this a full-service location open between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (MST) Monday through Friday. Road tests are also available and may be made by appointment at ServiceArizona.com.
Asset Insurance is located at 16 N. Central in Colorado City.
