Preventing the Spread of Infectious Diseases

Ways to Prevent the Spread:

Wash Hands Frequently:

Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing, sneezing, or touching shared surfaces.

1. Cover Coughs and Sneezes:

   Use a tissue or your elbow to cover your mouth and nose and dispose of tissues properly.

2. Stay Home When Sick:

   Avoid public places to prevent spreading illness to others.

3. Get Vaccinated:

   Stay up to date on recommended vaccines, available at local clinics.

4. Clean Shared Surfaces:

   Regularly disinfect doorknobs, countertops, and other high-touch areas.

5. Practice Social Distancing:

   Maintain space from others, especially during outbreaks, or if you or a

   family member with whom you have been in contact is sick, to reduce

   transmission.
